About CBPLA

The Cross-Border Private Lenders Association is a professional community created to connect the Canadian and American private lending industries. We bring together private lenders, brokers, originators, capital providers and the specialized professionals who support them.

Our purpose

CBPLA helps members build relationships and understand the practical issues that arise when lending, investing or supporting transactions across markets. Through education, industry resources, publications and member programming, we create a place to ask better questions, share perspectives and learn from the professionals working in private lending.

Why cross-border matters

Capital and commercial relationships do not stop at a border. The rules, terminology and processes that govern lending can change substantially between jurisdictions. CBPLA helps members identify those differences and find the education and professional connections needed to explore their next steps responsibly.
